Roma is close to finalizing a transfer for Givairo Read from Feyenoord, having submitted a bid of €25 million plus an additional €4 million in bonuses, successfully outmaneuvering Nottingham Forest in the process.
According to various sources, including Sky Sport Italia, Retesport, and Fabrizio Romano, both clubs are expected to confirm the agreement soon, with today being a pivotal moment for final discussions.

Discussions are currently focused on payment structures and terms, which need to be finalized before the player can travel for a medical examination.
Initially, Feyenoord’s asking price was set at €30 million; however, Roma’s current offer stands at €29 million when including add-ons.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini has reportedly had personal discussions with Read to outline the club’s vision, especially after Roma’s qualification for the Champions League.
Personal terms, which include a five-year contract worth €2 million per season plus performance bonuses, have already been agreed upon, as noted by Corriere dello Sport.
Read, who celebrated his 20th birthday in June, plays primarily as a right-back but is also capable of performing on the left flank. Given Gasperini’s tactics, he is expected to adopt a more advanced role as a wing-back.
