In the latest episode of The Sky Blues Fancast on BBC CWR, Coventry City supporters Alex and Ged shared their apprehensions about the potential signing of Carl Rushworth from Brighton.
Just over a year ago, Coventry City secured Rushworth on a season-long loan from Brighton.

Ged expressed to BBC CWR, “This has turned into quite a saga. It’s been going on for too long.”
“We’ve been discussing it since the end of last season, and it’s evident that Rushworth is eager to remain.”
Brighton has already declined a £25 million offer for the 25-year-old, reportedly valuing him at £40 million.
Alex commented, “Rushworth isn’t heading to one of the top six clubs, but Brighton recognizes his potential market value. The reported £40 million fee does seem steep and would position him among the most expensive goalkeepers ever.”
If Coventry were to finalize the deal with a £40 million bid, Rushworth would become the fourth most expensive goalkeeper in Premier League history, behind Kepa Arrizabalaga, Alisson Becker, and Andre Onana.

Ged added, “Brighton is clearly aiming to maximize their profit. One concern is that I’m unclear on what our backup plan is.”
“If we do sign Rushworth, his familiarity with the club will make the transition smoother, which would be a definite plus.”
