Inter Milan claimed the top spot in Serie A, drawing level with AS Roma, after defeating Lazio 2-0, thanks to goals from Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny.
The Nerazzurri came into the match following a challenging pair of victories against Verona and Kairat Almaty, with key players like Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Matteo Darmian, and Raffaele Di Gennaro absent, and Marcus Thuram available only as a substitute. Lazio faced their own injury woes, missing Nuno Tavares, Matteo Cancellieri, Taty Castellanos, Samuel Gigot, Nicolò Rovella, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, although Alessio Romagnoli was fit to start.

Although Lazio had remained unbeaten for six matches and had kept four consecutive clean sheets, their streak ended just three minutes into the game. Alessandro Bastoni intercepted a pass from Gustav Isaksen, setting up Lautaro Martinez, whose lightly scuffed shot from inside the box found the back of the net, marking his second goal of the week and his first in five Serie A appearances.
Martinez also came close again, heading over from a Federico Dimarco free kick, while Mattia Zaccagni nearly equalized, firing just over the bar from the edge of the box.
Petar Sucic volleyed a cross from Nicolò Barella wide, and Manuel Akanji shot over the bar from a setup by Denzel Dumfries.

Yann Sommer made a crucial save against a Matteo Guendouzi shot early in the second half, while Lautaro Martinez failed to convert a chance created by a give-and-go with Barella.
The home side doubled their advantage shortly after, with Dimarco playing a perfectly timed cross for Bonny, who easily tapped it in from close range.

Shortly after, Piotr Zielinski found the net with a strike from the edge of the area, assisting from Carlos Augusto, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR check revealed a handling offense by Dimarco.
Pedro came close for Lazio but shot just wide, while Mario Gila’s header from a free kick hit the inside of the far post, with goal-line technology confirming it didn’t cross the line entirely.
Ivan Provedel denied a strike from Carlos Augusto, and Sommer was again called into action to stop Luca Pellegrini after a brilliant pass from Zaccagni set him up.
Final Score: Inter 2-0 Lazio
Scorers: Lautaro Martinez 3′ (I), Ange-Yoan Bonny 62′ (I)
