Khadija “Bunny” Shaw has officially signed a four-year contract extension with Manchester City, confirming her stay with the WSL champions.
Despite speculation linking her to a move away from the club, with Chelsea showing interest in the talented forward, Shaw will now be part of the Manchester squad through 2030.
The announcement was made during City’s end-of-season parade.
“I’ve always felt that Manchester City is my home. I’ve developed immensely as a player and as a person over the past five years,” Shaw stated.
“Winning the WSL title with the team is one of the greatest achievements of my career, and I am thrilled about what we can accomplish next season and beyond — not to mention one last major game coming up against Brighton!”
“To our fans, thank you for your unwavering support. I’m excited to continue this incredible journey with you all and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in the future.”
City is set to face Brighton in the Women’s FA Cup final this Sunday.
Retaining Shaw is a significant achievement for the club. The 29-year-old is a three-time WSL Golden Boot winner who netted 21 goals in 22 matches during the season as City claimed the title.
Her accomplishments made her the first player in WSL history to score over 20 goals in three separate seasons.

Shaw joined Manchester City in 2021 from Bordeaux, tallying 117 goals and 28 assists in 137 appearances across all competitions.
City’s director of football, Therese Sjogran, expressed excitement over Shaw’s extension: “We are thrilled that Bunny has committed to another four years with Manchester City. She has played a vital role in our success this season.”
“If we achieve the desired outcome in the FA Cup final on Sunday, Bunny will undoubtedly have been crucial to that success, as well.”
“The statistics and awards speak volumes, but Bunny’s contributions extend far beyond the pitch. She has emerged as a true leader in the team, and I have no doubt she will be instrumental as we make our return to Champions League football next season and strive to defend our WSL title.”
“This is a significant statement from City, affirming that we have secured one of the world’s top centre-forwards, and from Bunny, indicating she believes this is the best environment for her to flourish.”
“I would like to express my gratitude for her continued confidence in our vision and objectives.”
