Chelsea has listed 33 academy players for their Champions League group stage match against Ajax on Wednesday.
The roster includes Isago, the son of former Chelsea and Brazil captain Thiago Silva, along with various young talents aged 16 to 19.
Club sources indicate that this decision was made for administrative efficiency, allowing the academy players to be registered all at once rather than on a match-by-match or individual basis.
The players are included on an unlimited B list, giving them the opportunity to participate in Chelsea’s remaining group stage fixtures.
ESPN has reached out to UEFA for comments but has not yet received a response.
