Soules Deep Affection…

Matias Soulé appeared on a recent episode of the AS Roma Podcast, where he was joined by former Giallorossi striker Abel Balbo. They both reflected on significant milestones in their careers, discussing their debuts in Argentina and their journeys to the club.

Speaking about his ties to Argentina, Soulé said, “Whenever I get the chance, I return there. Italy is similar in many ways, but for those of us born in Argentina, nothing can compare to it.”

He then shared his feelings about living in Rome: “Rome is one of a kind. It has a lot in common with Argentina; everything you need is here. The weather is fantastic; it truly is one of the best cities in the world.”

Reflecting on his experiences in Argentina, the 2003-born player remarked, “We both attended boarding school. I left home at 11 and moved to Italy at 16. While some older kids struggled without their families, I was determined and stayed strong.”

Discussing his transfer to the Giallorossi, Soulé expressed, “During my time at Juventus, I really wanted to make a move. It’s a fantastic club with a great team. The passion here in Rome is unrivaled; the fans are incredibly enthusiastic. We hope to deliver a lot for them.”

He also shared the excitement of scoring a goal in a derby: “It was an unbelievable experience. We were behind, and it was my first goal at the Olimpico. I never expected it would happen; it was a beautiful strike, and I had my doubts about whether it would go in.”

On having Paulo Dybala as a teammate, Soulé said, “I’ve known him for a long time, but I’ve really come to know him better here, and now we spend a lot of time together. He’s just as great off the pitch.”

As for the national team and the upcoming World Cup, Soulé shared, “I’m focused on the World Cup; it would be an incredible experience. For us Argentines, representing our country is something truly special. I can’t even imagine what my debut would feel like.”
