Spalletti Sends Transfer…

Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti acknowledges that the Bianconeri require more ‘quality’ in tight situations, particularly amid rumors linking them with Bernardo Silva and Tijjani Reijnders from Manchester City.

The need for increased quality was underlined by Spalletti following a frustrating 1-1 draw at home against already-relegated Hellas Verona.

Juventus currently maintain a three-point advantage over fifth-placed Como, but Roma could close the gap to just one point if they defeat Fiorentina at Stadio Olimpico tonight.

In a recent post-match interview, Spalletti articulated the club’s transfer objectives for the upcoming summer.

“We are indeed lacking genuine quality in tight spaces, particularly in the attacking midfield area,” Spalletti informed Sky Sport Italia through Gazzetta.

“What we need is an attacking midfielder adept at maneuvering in cramped spaces, as that zone in front of the opponent’s penalty box can become congested. When plays don’t work out, it often leads to forced actions, which in turn amplifies frustrations and challenges.”

Juventus has already started discussions with Manchester City’s captain, Bernardo Silva, who is set to become a free agent as he won’t extend his contract with the Premier League club.

Furthermore, Football Insider reports that the Bianconeri are also eyeing Reijnders, another City player and former Milan star, who has found it difficult to secure playing time in his first season at the Etihad Stadium, especially lately.

Spalletti has also emphasized the need for enhanced quality in central defense, suggesting that the club seek a ball-playing center-back.

“Certain characteristics define a team’s identity,” he stated. “We have Bremer and Kelly, both of whom are outstanding defenders individually—strong in duels, physical, and defensively solid. However, they may not offer enough when it comes to building play from the back.”
