, Stade Rennais and Sunderland AFC have come to an agreement for the transfer of Eliezer Mayenda (21), with the deal valued at €22 million plus an additional €3 million in bonuses.
The Spanish youth international has prior experience in France, having emerged from the FC Sochaux-Montbéliard academy, where he made his debut,
becoming the youngest player in the club’s history to appear in a professional match

Mayenda scored in Sunderland’s first match after their promotion to the top flight last season, but it did not indicate a breakthrough for the young forward. He faced challenges in securing consistent playing time with The Black Cats, despite making 20 appearances.
At Rennes, he will seek more regular game time as the club aims to move past the difficulties of recent years and re-establish themselves as a consistent contender in European competitions under Franck Haise’s management, which recently led them to qualify for the UEFA Europa League.
