Fiorentina have reached an agreement to take Bournemouth’s Spanish defender Alex Jimenez on a season-long loan.
The deal includes a €20m (£17m) option to buy and allows the 21-year-old to keep playing despite being suspended by Bournemouth while the club investigates allegations linked to social media.
Bournemouth dropped Jimenez from the first team in May over what they called a “serious matter” related to circulating posts online.
He originally joined the Cherries on loan from AC Milan before making the move permanent in February on a contract running to 2031. A Spain Under-21 international, Jimenez made 32 appearances and scored once for Bournemouth last season.
