This week, England head coach Thomas Tuchel announced his 35-man squad for the upcoming March international friendlies. These matches will be the last chance for players to showcase their skills before the FIFA World Cup squad is finalized in May.
When asked if it was too late for either Ngumoha or Arsenal’s young star Max Dowman to vie for a spot on the final roster for the North American tournament this summer, Tuchel responded:
“Why should I dismiss that possibility? Rio is having a strong season with Liverpool and is working his way into the team,” Tuchel told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Max is also proving himself at the highest level, so why would we rule anything out?
“It’s March now, and we leave in June. Our squad must be named by late May, so anything is possible.”
