Title Race to the Wire:…

It’s clear that Motherwell hasn’t let the Scottish Cup loss to Aberdeen dampen their spirits.

Although it was a delightful surprise to net five goals against St Mirren on Saturday, it’s tinged with disappointment due to the earlier cup failure.

Despite consistently being praised for playing some of the best football in the country and boasting impressive statistics in Europe, falling short in both cup competitions is incredibly frustrating.

Technically, we’re still in the race for the Premiership title. For us to have a chance, Hearts, Celtic, and Rangers would need to slip up while we aim to win almost every match until season’s end. While this seems unlikely, it’s nice to dream.

The battle for the top four is sure to go down to the wire, and while we may not be in contention for the title, our performance will certainly impact where the trophy ultimately goes.

We’ve all heard of “Helicopter Sunday”—this season, we might just have “ScotRail Saturday,” depending on whether the trophy needs to travel up the Clyde or over to Edinburgh.

With our cup run over, there are no excuses for dropping points now. We must capitalize on Celtic having at least one European match left, knowing that teams lower in the standings could snag points from our competitors.

Before the split, we face Dundee United at home, Dundee away, Celtic away, Hibs at home, Falkirk at home, and Hearts away.

The matchups against the Dundee sides, Hibs, and Falkirk are critical wins for us.

If we can manage to draw against both Celtic and Hearts, we’ll enter the split with our heads held high.

Until then, I’ll keep doing the mental gymnastics necessary to envision our league title triumph.
