Chelsea is awaiting test results to determine the severity of Trevoh Chalobah’s injury after he was stretchered off during the Blues’ 3-0 Champions League defeat against PSG on Tuesday evening.
This defeat marked a record aggregate loss of 8-2 for Chelsea in European competitions.

In his debut for the competition, Mamadou Sarr, filling in for Reece James and Malo Gusto, committed a crucial error, allowing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to score just six minutes into the match, setting a negative tone for the game.
Bradley Barcola added a stunning second goal after Chalobah failed to track him, and 19-year-old Senny Mayulu came off the bench to further embarrass the visitors.
Chalobah’s night took a turn for the worse as he went down in significant pain in the closing minutes. He was carried off the pitch and joins teammates James and Gusto on the injury list, with manager Liam Rosenior suggesting a sprained ankle could be the cause.
Rosenior commented to TNT Sports, “I’ve just spoken with the medical team, and it appears he has a high ankle sprain. I’m hoping it’s not too serious, especially considering Trevoh’s exceptional form; we can’t afford to lose another defender right now.”

During his press conference, Rosenior added, “He seemed quite concerned, and I’ve checked with the medical team again. We’ll conduct scans and make an assessment tomorrow. We’re hopeful it won’t be as severe as initially feared.”
Chelsea, who started strong after Rosenior’s appointment, have managed only five points from their last five Premier League matches, including a lackluster 1-0 home loss to Newcastle United on Saturday.
They currently sit sixth in the league and risk being surpassed by local rivals Brentford, who are just three points behind, unless they can improve their form, beginning with a crucial match against Everton on Saturday.
“When facing a challenging stretch, it’s important to maintain good habits. We have a tough game against Everton ahead, and we need to give our best to secure a positive result there,” Rosenior stated following the defeat to PSG.
