Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that right-back Kieran Trippier has sustained a knee ligament injury during his league debut.
The club reported that the former England international suffered a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury in his left knee in the recent 2-2 draw against Blackburn Rovers last Friday.

The 35-year-old is anticipated to be sidelined “for several weeks” after joining the club on a free transfer in June.
Additionally, fellow defender Yerson Mosquera will also be out after picking up an injury during the match against Blackburn. The 25-year-old has suffered a minor tear in his ankle ligaments and is expected to miss a few weeks.
On a more positive note, Wolves director of performance Phil Hayward provided an update on winger Rafiki Said. The 26-year-old summer signing suffered a “high-grade” MCL injury during a pre-season friendly against Maidenhead United last month, just 11 days after joining the team.

“Rafiki has been working extremely hard in the gym for the past few weeks while wearing his brace. He has now come out of the brace, and the most recent scan looks promising, indicating that he is progressing well,” Hayward stated.
Hayward also confirmed that goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is just a week away from reaching full fitness, while Haiti international midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is still a couple of weeks away from returning to first-team training.
