Tottenham manager Igor Tudor addressed the media ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Fulham at Craven Cottage (14:00 GMT).
Below are the main points from his press conference:
-
Tudor announced that both Pedro Porro and Kevin Danso are fit and ready to play, while Micky van de Ven is dealing with a “minor issue in his little finger” but is otherwise “fine.”
-
Commenting on the team’s recent loss to Arsenal, he stated, “The less said, the better. Our focus should be on our daily training to improve our position in the table.”
-
When questioned about a social media clip showing Van de Ven seeming to disregard him during the North London derby, Tudor clarified: “I saw that clip, but it was an instruction meant for the team to press forward, not just for Micky. We’re aiming to play a high-pressing style, but executing it is currently challenging for the team. There was a bit of frustration, but it’s not an issue. He’s a great professional who wouldn’t intentionally disregard me.”
-
When asked if the role of interim head coach at Tottenham has proven more difficult than anticipated, Tudor responded, “Yes, I would agree with that. It’s certainly challenging, but I’ve maintained my viewpoint. We must focus on our daily tasks—physical fitness, mental readiness, performance—and await the return of our injured players. Our concentration should be on our performance instead of getting distracted by others.”
-
Regarding tactical choices, Tudor suggested that immediate results are more crucial than implementing his preferred style right now. He commented, “We need to be tactical about securing points, even if that means setting style aside for the moment. Right now, the focus is on survival; we have to navigate this period wisely.”
-
About the upcoming Champions League round of 16 draw, he remarked, “I don’t dwell too much on the draw; it doesn’t change much for me. It’s a wonderful competition that everyone wants to participate in.”
-
Tudor further addressed the challenge of player injuries, saying, “Our roster depth is a significant concern. Playing every three days with limited numbers is not ideal. It requires not just physical effort but also mental resilience, as every league match feels like a decisive encounter for us.”
