Aurelien Tchouameni opened the scoring with a shot that deflected off the woodwork, shortly after Vinicius Jr hit the post.

Celta managed to equalize when England’s Trent Alexander-Arnold allowed Williot Swedberg to slip past him on the wing, leading to Borja Iglesias’s goal.

Real Madrid, coached by Alvaro Arbeloa, were missing several key players, including Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Eduardo Camavinga due to injuries.

This victory places Real just one point behind Barcelona, as they aim to close the gap at the top of the table following recent struggles.

Barcelona will have a chance to extend their lead back to four points when they face Athletic Club on Saturday (20:00 GMT).
