Wilfried Nancy, who has been unemployed since departing from Celtic in January, is now aiming for a move to Ligue 1, as he shared with RMC Sport.
Nancy arrived in Europe with a strong reputation following a successful tenure with the Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer. After managing 136 matches with the US team, he joined a struggling Celtic, stepping in for interim manager Martin O’Neill in early December. However, after just eight games in charge, he was dismissed, with O’Neill returning to lead the team to victory in the Scottish Premiership, overcoming Hearts on the final day of the season.

Since then, Nancy has been seeking another opportunity and spoke about his ambitions on the RMC Sport showAfter Foot on Wednesday night, detailing his return plans. “I am confident in my abilities, but I remain humble as circumstances can change rapidly in football,” he stated.
He added, “In the past three years, I have had no reason to complain, as French clubs have shown interest in working with me. It’s a matter of timing, and unfortunately, the timing wasn’t right before. Now, I am eager to return to Ligue 1, should an opportunity arise. I may not be the one to make the decisions, but I am ready.”
