With One Week Left, What…

Brentford can afford to be selective in the market after some shrewd and effective squad additions.

The Bees have explored options at left-back, with West Ham’s El Hadji Malick Diouf heavily linked, but it doesn’t feel urgent given Keane Lewis-Potter’s ability to operate as a wing-back and the presence of Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey.

There’s proven cover up front in former England striker Callum Wilson, and Keith Andrews now has the overall depth that was lacking last season.

Don’t expect a frantic finish to the transfer window.

One more attacking option—ideally on the left—would take this window for Brentford from a nine to a perfect 10.

Mykhailo Mudryk has been circulating in the rumour mill recently, and Brentford have history there, having pursued him before his move to Chelsea.

If they bring in someone of Mudryk’s profile, it’s hard to see how the window could have gone much better for Andrews.
