Yeovil Town has appointed Billy Rowley as their new manager, signing him to a two-and-a-half-year contract.
Rowley makes the move from Walton & Hersham, where he managed in the seventh tier, becoming Yeovil’s fourth manager this season.
He replaces Richard Dryden, who had served as interim manager after taking over from Danny Webb.
Webb resigned after just one match and subsequently returned to Chesterfield as an assistant in October after Mark Cooper was dismissed in August.
“This club has a massive community presence and an incredible history. I’ve spoken to several players who have played here, and they all have wonderful things to say about it,” Rowley shared with Yeovil’s official site.
“I can’t wait to get on the pitch with the players. When a club like Yeovil comes calling, it’s hard to say no.”
Walton & Hersham reported that they received an inquiry regarding Rowley during their match against Hungerford Town on Saturday.
During his 18-month tenure, he led the Surrey club to the top of their league, currently holding a game in hand over second-place Gloucester City.
Rowley will make his debut in charge when Yeovil faces Boston United this Saturday, with the Glovers sitting 17th in the National League.
