We asked you which players you’ve seen at the World Cup that would be excellent additions to Newcastle.
Here are some of your thoughts:
Frederick: Elijah Just has shown great talent in the New Zealand squad. He could be a valuable asset for Newcastle, currently playing for Motherwell in Scotland and valued at £4.5m, with interest from Celtic and Rangers. Newcastle should quickly make a £6m offer.

Jimmy: Nmecha has been a key player for the German team and would fit seamlessly into our midfield. Is it possible to entice him away from Dortmund? It’s a challenging task.
Andrew: I believe acquiring any standout players from the World Cup may not be wise. Their prices will skyrocket, and the top clubs will be in the hunt as well. This season, Newcastle needs to scout players off the radar to secure good value without facing competition from wealthier teams.
Russell: Summerville could be a wise acquisition for Newcastle. At 24, he’s still young and is a goal-scoring winger who could replace Gordon. Given his relegation, there’s a realistic chance to bring him in.
Rodney: Luc de Fougerolles has shown potential. He’s calm under pressure, physically strong, and looks to drive forward. Currently on loan from Fulham and could be available for a fair price. He’d make a solid replacement for Schar.

Ben: Verbruggen would be an excellent addition, as securing a first-choice goalkeeper is essential. Sweden‘s Ayari could be a promising long-term prospect who would complement Elanga. Additionally, Trossard could fill in for Gordon—Newcastle missed a chance to sign him in the past and would likely regret it if they pass again. All three options present great value for Newcastle. Yeremy Pino would also be a fantastic addition to the attacking setup, regardless of the position he plays.
Lewis: Folarin Balogun was impressive in the USA’s World Cup opener. He would enhance Newcastle’s attack and finally provide a worthy number nine for the team.
Ged: Addoubi from Morocco has great ball control, is composed, and tackles well. I was shocked to discover he’s only 18. I’m also impressed with Quinones.
