This Wednesday (1), Fluminense and Corinthians will go head-to-head at Maracanã, kicking off at 9:30 p.m. (Brasília time) for the ninth round of the 2026 Brasileirão.

Currently, the Rio Tricolor is positioned fourth in the standings with 16 points, aiming for a second consecutive victory to draw level with leaders Palmeiras.

On the other hand, Timão is facing a winless streak in the league, having gone five matches without a victory (1 loss and 4 draws), which sees them sitting at 11th place with just 10 points.

In preparation for this match, coach Luis Zubeldía made several changes to the Fluminense lineup, opting to start Samuel Xavier, Renê, Serna, and John Kennedy in place of Guga, Guilherme Arana, Canobbio, and Castillo, respectively, after their last match—a 1-0 victory over Atlético-MG.

For Corinthians, after a 1-1 draw against Flamengo, coach Dorival Júnior has decided to include Kauê, Allan, Charles, and Rodrigo Garro, replacing Hugo Souza, Raniele, Carrillo, and Memphis Depay.
