Real Madrid Targets…

According to a recent report from Fichajes, Real Madrid has set its sights on Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez for a potential transfer. It is reported that the Argentine international is a target for Los Blancos, who are looking to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.

Fernandez’s Stellar Performances in the Premier League

Fernandez has made a strong impression in the current season, showcasing his talents as a key player in Enzo Maresca’s midfield. The Argentine has played 15 matches for Chelsea so far, contributing four goals and one assist across various competitions.

At just 24 years old, he has proven to be an asset defensively as well, completing 16 tackles, eight blocks, four interceptions, and four clearances in the Premier League. His ability to distribute the ball effectively is highlighted by an 81.6% pass completion rate (stats via fbref.com).

Fernandez is currently under contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2032, meaning Real Madrid would need to make a substantial offer to secure his services next year.

Should Xabi Alonso Pursue Fernandez?

Fernandez is known for his strong tackling abilities and excellent timing in challenges, allowing him to regain possession for his team. He is also competent at clearing danger when the opposition attacks and displays commendable passing skills.

The Argentine midfielder possesses the capability to strike the ball powerfully from long distances and demonstrates great energy with the ball at his feet. Primarily a box-to-box midfielder, he can also function effectively as a defensive midfielder or in a playmaking role if necessary.

Fernandez would undoubtedly inject more energy and dynamism into Xabi Alonso’s midfield setup at Real Madrid, potentially securing a regular starting position in the years to come. With his best years still ahead of him, the 24-year-old could be an excellent acquisition for Los Blancos either this January or at the end of the season, making him a prime target for Alonso to consider.
