As Alvaro Arbeloa is set to conclude his tenure as the first-team head coach at season’s end, Real Madrid has begun its search for a successor.
Recently, two prominent candidates have surfaced: former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, now serving as the Global Head of Football for the Red Bull Group, and current SL Benfica coach Jose Mourinho.
At this point, Los Blancos seem to favor Klopp, although they are open to the possibility of bringing Mourinho back to the club but only if Klopp declines the offer.
Toni Kroos’ Role in Persuading Klopp
According to journalist Joaquin Maroto (via Ramon Alvarez), Real Madrid is recruiting club legend and former midfielder Toni Kroos to help persuade Klopp to step in as the new manager.
Previous reports indicate that Los Blancos are working to bring Kroos back by offering him a significant role in the club’s sporting structure.

It seems the groundwork is being laid, and an official announcement could be imminent once the season wraps up. Currently, Kroos is reportedly making efforts to gauge Klopp’s interest in taking over at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The report suggests that if Kroos can ascertain that Klopp is open to the move, Real Madrid will act quickly to secure his appointment as the next manager.
While Klopp is content with his position at Red Bull and would only consider leaving for Real Madrid, there remains a strong possibility that he could assume the managerial position at the club, despite other potential candidates like Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino, and Didier Deschamps being in the mix.
