Though the season is still ongoing and Habib Beye remains at the helm, Olympique de Marseille has already initiated the search for a new manager, according to a report from L’Équipe.

Beye, who took over from Roberto De Zerbi in February, has not met the club’s expectations. He was tasked with leading the team to a UEFA Champions League berth and to the Coupe de France final—but has fallen short on both goals.

In a related development, a change will also occur in the sporting director role, with Grégory Lorenzi set to replace the outgoing Medhi Benatia. Lorenzi is reportedly keen on hiring a French manager. Among those considered are Bruno Genesio, who is set to depart Lille OSC this summer, and former Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier, who is currently under contract with NEOM SC in Saudi Arabia. Galtier, a native of the Marseille area, has expressed his ambition to coach at OM.

Another candidate in the mix is Adi Hutter, who left AS Monaco last autumn.
