Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid, has announced plans to make a €150 million bid for a marquee signing akin to legendary players like Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaka.
With the upcoming Madrid presidential elections, Perez aims to counteract rival Enrique Riquelme’s campaign pledges.

Perez shared his thoughts during an appearance on the show Horizonte, where he dismissed Riquelme’s assertions about signing Erling Braut Haaland, stating, “Everyone has denied it, so it must be a bluff.” He added that he does not want individuals who could destabilize the club.
He also disclosed that a formal proposal will be made on Tuesday for a star player from a Champions League club, with the expected transfer fee likely to set a new record for Madrid.
“The player will likely be a midfielder or forward – it’s not Haaland,” he noted, while eliminating targets based in the Premier League and promising that the signing will create excitement.

Perez emphasized that the club remains the most valuable in world football and reflected on his enduring ties with Madrid. He highlighted the club’s financial success, estimating its worth at around €10 billion, and reaffirmed his belief that Madrid continues to set benchmarks in sport and business globally.
Supporters are eagerly anticipating Tuesday’s announcement, which could redefine Madrid’s midfield and attack strategies.
Given Perez’s hints about the target likely being a midfielder and the club’s pressing needs, speculation naturally revolves around Paris Saint-Germain stars Joao Neves and Vitinha.
Both players possess elite control, press resistance, and progressive passing abilities that Madrid has been lacking since the transition from Toni Kroos.

Neves excels as a workhorse in the midfield but also serves as a conductor, while Vitinha offers technical security and quick ball movement under pressure. Either player would fit well into Jose Mourinho’s system, providing Madrid with the control they have been missing.
