The new season will kick off on Saturday, August 22, 2026—34 days following the World Cup final held in the United States.
The season will conclude on Sunday, May 30, 2027, with the Champions League final taking place just six days later.
Next season will feature 33 weekends of matches, with an additional five fixtures scheduled during midweek.
The Premier League has indicated that the upcoming schedule aims to “minimize conflicts with UEFA competition dates whenever feasible.”
During the holiday season, no two match rounds will be scheduled within 60 hours of one another, adhering to commitments made to clubs addressing the busy schedule during that time.
Significant Changes to International Breaks
As the fixtures are announced, a notable alteration to the schedule will occur in late September and early October.

Normally, the initial months of the season include three two-week international breaks: one in September, one in October, and one in November.
For the coming season, however, the September and October breaks will be consolidated into one extended break.
This means there will be a three-week pause in the Premier League schedule from the weekend of September 19/20 until October 10/11.
Currently, this extended autumn break is expected to remain in place until at least the 2030-31 season.
