Alvaro Carreras has once again surfaced as a likely candidate to leave Real Madrid.
While the left-back is eager to stay at Santiago Bernabeu, SPORT (via Bernabeu Digital) reports that Xabi Alonso considers him a top target and is resolute in bringing him to Chelsea.

The Spanish manager has viewed Carreras as an essential addition since he took over in London and believes the defender would be an ideal match for his long-term vision at Stamford Bridge.
A Long-standing Admiration
Xabi Alonso’s interest in Carreras began when he took the helm at Chelsea, but it grew stronger after Marc Cucurella transferred to Real Madrid.
With Chelsea in need of reinforcements on the left side of defense, Carreras has remained a key figure on Alonso’s wishlist for several weeks.

However, Real Madrid has already informed Chelsea that they are not considering offers for the player, although offers in the region of €50 million could sway their decision.
Despite the hefty price tag, Alonso has not lost hope for the transfer, and Chelsea may still opt to meet Real Madrid’s asking price.
Carreras Aims to Stay
Following the sale of Fran Garcia, it seems unlikely that Real Madrid would be willing to let Carreras go this summer.
Moreover, the primary challenge for Chelsea in their quest for the defender might be Carreras himself.

The former Benfica full-back came to the Bernabeu with a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising young left-backs.
However, after a season where he struggled to secure a starting position, coupled with Cucurella’s arrival, he has found himself further down the squad hierarchy.
A transfer to Chelsea could present him with the chance to become a consistent starter under a coach who has shown unwavering confidence in him.
Should he remain in Madrid, he is likely to serve as a backup to Cucurella, who has been brought in as the club’s first-choice left-back.
