Famalicão head coach Hugo Oliveira
has reportedly been chosen to replace Gary O’Neil as the new manager of Strasbourg, according to

. The Portuguese manager is set to arrive in France on Sunday to finalize his contract and will oversee his first training session on Monday. This decision comes after O’Neil’s departure to newly promoted Premier League team Ipswich Town FC.
Sources from L’Equipe indicate that Strasbourg will pay a compensation fee of €2 million to Famalicão, where Oliveira led the team to a fifth-place finish last season. The 47-year-old previously served as assistant coach to Marco Silva at Hull City FC, Watford, Everton, and Fulham FC. He was in competition with former Celtic FC manager Wilfried Nancy for the Strasbourg position. The club’s opening match in Ligue 1 will be an away game against Marseille.
