Mohamed Salah is no longer part of Liverpool FC.
The winger, now 34 years old, has agreed to terminate his £400,000-a-week contract a year earlier than planned. His original contract was set to run until 2027, but it was cut short on June 30.
Currently enjoying a break following Egypt’s elimination from the FIFA World Cup by Argentina, Salah is now contemplating his next career step.
It is believed that clubs in the Saudi Pro League are frontrunners to secure his services, with Al-Ittihad having previously approached Salah in 2023 and likely to present a lucrative offer during the off-season.
Interest from Saudi Arabia and MLS
Al-Ahli is showing interest after making room in their squad following the departure of Riyad Mahrez.
Major League Soccer (MLS) teams are also in pursuit, although they typically operate on a smaller financial scale. Clubs like San Diego FC, Inter Miami, and Sporting Kansas City is also eyeing a move for Salah — but no final decisions about his future have been made yet.

Salah believes he is still capable of competing at the top levels in Europe.
European Offers Are Likely
Potential destinations such as Roma and Juventus in Serie A could be appealing options, although meeting his financial demands could prove challenging. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid is reportedly interested in signing Salah as a replacement for Antoine Griezmann.
There is also the possibility of a move to the Turkish Super Lig, with Fenerbahce and Galatasaray long being considered potential suitors. Reports suggest that Fenerbahce has put forward an offer reportedly worth €90 million over three years.
According to a recent report from Football Insider, Besiktas has joined the race for Salah, eager to compete with their Istanbul rivals.

Besiktas Joins the Race for Salah
“The likes of Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, and Besiktas are reportedly interested, but Salah is expected to take his time before making a final decision as he considers his options,” the report states.
“While these are not the only clubs interested, Turkish teams are preparing to intensify their pursuit with substantial financial offers for the player.
“These clubs have demonstrated a willingness to invest heavily in recent transfer windows and are optimistic about attracting Salah with a significant offer to outbid competing interests.”
Besiktas faced a challenging season last year, finishing fourth and trailing significantly behind the top two teams, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. However, with new head coach Vincenzo Italiano at the helm, they are poised for a strong comeback next season, and Salah is reportedly a key target.
