Liverpool has kicked off the transfer window by acquiring Victor Munoz.

The 23-year-old Spaniard joined from Osasuna for €40 million after Richard Hughes activated his release clause.

With Mohamed Salah potentially departing and the club also looking at others like Federico Chiesa, the Premier League champions wasted no time in securing a new wing option.

However, a few weeks later, fans might be feeling anxious.

Liverpool Needs More Wingers

Although Munoz is a promising addition, he primarily plays as a left winger and isn’t expected to be an automatic starter.

The Anfield side still requires a strong replacement for Salah and additional wide forward options for new head coach Andoni Iraola.

Yan Diomande was initially a top choice; however, Liverpool has missed the opportunity to sign the Ivorian teenager. The 19-year-old forward from RB Leipzig looks set to join Paris Saint-Germain if the Bundesliga side approves his transfer.

This situation has left Richard Hughes scrambling for alternatives in the forward department, with names like Matias Fernandez-Pardo, Yankuba Minteh, and Said El Mala being discussed as potential targets.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that Antonio Nusa – a Leipzig teammate of Diomande – was also considered as a Plan B should a deal for the young African star not materialize.

Nusa, now 21, would be a more affordable option than Diomande, whose price has exceeded €100 million. Meanwhile, the Norwegian is reported to be available for around €60 million, with his contract set to run until 2029.

However, Liverpool must act quickly as Arsenal is reportedly entering the race to sign the Norway FIFA World Cup star.

Mikel Arteta’s squad intends to initiate the bidding at around €40 million, making it essential for Richard Hughes to put together a counteroffer soon.

Arsenal’s €40m Bid for Nusa

“Arsenal are preparing to make an offer of around €40 million for Antonio Nusa this month,” reports Caught Offside.

The Premier League title holders require reinforcements in their attack following the sale of Leandro Trossard to Besiktas. In contrast, Liverpool’s situation is more urgent due to Salah’s exit and the need for quality one-on-ones on the flanks this summer.

While Nusa is primarily a left winger, he has the versatility to also play on the right side of the attack.
