Roma explore alternatives…

For several hours, it appeared that Crysencio Summerville was headed for a move to Serie A. Roma made significant progress in negotiations and were close to finalizing the transfer when Al-Hilal intervened with a lucrative offer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, this development has caused considerable disappointment in Rome, as the club believed they had secured the player. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini had numerous conversations with Summerville and intended to meet with him soon. The club was hopeful he would choose them, but they feel he has taken a risk with his ambition by opting for a move to Saudi Arabia.

In light of this setback, Roma is now exploring alternative options, especially with Aston Villa pursuing another target, Alejandro Garnacho.

At the top of their list is Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa, who carries a valuation of €40 million. Financial constraints aren’t expected to be a problem for Roma, allowing them to consider high-priced players. Benfica’s Andreas Schjelderup is also under consideration, along with some less prominent names, including Koln’s Said El Mala and PSG’s Ibrahim Mbaye.

Roma is actively evaluating all players and their valuations, with Gasperini prioritizing an attacking acquisition.
