Sky Sports reports that Borussia Dortmund is still in talks with KRC Genk regarding the transfer of attacking midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas. According to the Pay-TV channel, Dortmund has proposed an initial payment of around €30 million, plus an additional €5 million in performance-related bonuses, along with a 20-percent sell-on clause. However, Genk is holding out for a guaranteed €35 million and a total package that could reach €40 million.
Direct negotiations earlier this week did not yield any agreement between the two clubs. Dortmund has yet to revise their latest offer, making it seem unlikely that Karetsas will join the team before Sunday’s departure for the pre-season tour of Japan.

The 18-year-old has already reached an agreement on personal terms for a contract that runs until 2031. The only remaining hurdle is the transfer fee.
According to a recent report from Get German Football News, Karetsas fits the profile that Dortmund currently lacks. While he primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, he is also capable of starting on the right and moving into central positions.
His close control, agility, and proficiency in navigating congested spaces make him particularly effective in transitional play. Dortmund’s recent offer marks a significant investment in the Greek international.
Despite this, Genk’s ongoing resistance puts Dortmund in a pivotal position: they must either meet the Belgian club’s demands or risk missing out on one of their key targets for the summer.
