Barcelona has committed to providing support to the family of a worker who tragically lost his life during renovation work at the Camp Nou stadium.
The incident took place on Friday amidst ongoing efforts to increase the stadium’s capacity to 105,000 seats.
A statement from the club expressed: “FC Barcelona is profoundly saddened by the passing of the worker who was involved in a workplace accident during the renovations at Spotify Camp Nou.”
“The club extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt support to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased.”

The renovation project, which has faced numerous delays and rising costs, commenced in June 2023. The club utilized the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys during the early stages of the project but returned to Camp Nou for home games in November 2025, winning 19 of their final 20 matches there last season, with the only loss occurring against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in April.
