Manchester City has made an offer to Olympique de Marseille for goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli (34), as reported by Foot Mercato. Interest in Rulli emerged yesterday from Fabrizio Romano, who reported late in the evening that the Citizens are keen on Marseille’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Rulli is said to be receptive to a return to Manchester, where he was on the roster back in 2016 but did not make any appearances. The former Montpellier player would likely serve as the backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma, especially with James Trafford nearing a transfer to Leeds United. Additionally, Sporting CP has shown interest in Rulli, who has made 73 appearances for Marseille since joining the club in the summer of 2024 under coach Roberto De Zerbi.
However, Marseille is cautious about Rulli’s potential exit, as they are in discussions regarding Jeffrey de Lange‘s transfer to FC Twente. They aim to ensure a replacement is secured before losing both of their senior goalkeepers.
