However, recent comments from Mainz’s sporting director regarding Kaishu Sano suggest that Liverpool will need to invest significantly if they wish to secure the Japan international.

Kaishu Sano Would Challenge Ryan Gravenberch for a Starting Spot
Apart from the 2026 World Cup, Kaishu Sano may not be well-known to many.
The 25-year-old Japan international has been competing in the Bundesliga since the 2024-25 season.
During his time at Mainz, he has made 84 appearances in all competitions, with 80 of those in a defensive midfield role, contributing to seven goals, all of which came in the 2025-26 season.
