Cardiff City has completed the signing of midfielder Jack Moylan from Championship compatriots Lincoln City on a four-year contract.
The 24-year-old played a pivotal role in Lincoln’s promotion to the Championship, netting 11 goals and making six assists as they triumphed over the Bluebirds to secure the League One title.

Moylan’s standout performance last season earned him a call-up to the Republic of Ireland national team, where he scored a hat-trick on his debut during a 5-0 victory against Grenada.
The former Bohemians and Shelbourne player reunites with Cardiff manager and fellow Irishman Brian Barry-Murphy, with his contract set to run until 2030.
Moylan expressed his enthusiasm in an interview with Cardiff City TV: “There were many factors at play. This is such a major club in a lovely city, and Brian [Barry-Murphy] has an excellent reputation.
“The style of football he advocates is something I believe I’ll really enjoy. I’ve been following the team closely over the past year, particularly their recent match against Roma, and the quality of their play is impressive.”

Moylan becomes Cardiff’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Nathan Trott, who joined on a permanent basis in May. Moylan is optimistic about his future with the team.
“Last season, I typically played in the No. 10 position and out on the left for Lincoln, so I naturally gravitate towards that side. I believe the team’s formation will suit me well, as they are a footballing side that embraces versatility,” Moylan commented.
“Playing alongside talented teammates who understand my style will certainly make the experience enjoyable.”
The Bluebirds recently achieved a 4-1 victory over Italian giants Roma and are now set to face Swindon Town in the first round of the EFL Cup on Saturday, August 8 (15:00 BST).
