Simone Inzaghi’s Agent:…

Simone Inzaghi’s move from Inter to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal remains a hot topic this summer, and his agent, Federico Pastorello, has provided new insights on the manager’s thought process.

In an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb, Pastorello disclosed that the possibility of leaving had been on the table for quite some time, but the final choice was made only after the Champions League final.

“Inzaghi’s transition to Al Hilal was not a spur-of-the-moment decision — it involved considerable groundwork. We explored this option earlier, but he was clear about not wanting to discuss it in detail until certain events unfolded. He told me that had he won the Champions League, he would never have considered leaving Inter. I can assure you that the decision emerged post-final in Munich and followed discussions with the club’s management,” Pastorello stated.

The agent further elaborated that while financial incentives played a role, Inzaghi’s move was also motivated by his eagerness to face new challenges. “Indeed, the financial element was significant, but he was also keen to test himself in an international setting, and the Saudi league ranks among the top leagues globally — both for its economic strength and competitive quality. Al Hilal stands as Asia’s premier club, boasting a rich history and a vast fanbase.”

Pastorello’s remarks illuminate the manager’s perspective, which reflects a blend of professional aspiration and timing. For Inzaghi, departing from Inter wasn’t a matter of discontent but rather a step forward into a new era after nearing the peak of European football.
