Alisson Becker Set to…

Recent reports suggest that Alisson Becker is set to stay at Anfield.

The Liverpool goalkeeper, who joined the Reds in 2018, has achieved significant success, winning every possible title at the club level. Over the years, Alisson, now 33, has proven himself to be one of the finest goalkeepers in the world.

Sporting director Richard Hughes recently exercised a one-year extension option in Alisson’s contract, ensuring he will remain on Merseyside until 2027 after his previous deal was set to expire this summer.

However, this new contract did not prevent Juventus from pursuing him, as Luciano Spalletti has offered Alisson a three-year deal in Turin.

Alisson’s Commitment to Liverpool

Despite Alisson expressing interest in the possibility of reuniting with his former Roma coach Spalletti, he has chosen to stay with Liverpool.

With other experienced players exiting, such as Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson, and Mohamed Salah, it’s evident that Liverpool values Alisson’s experience highly.

According to a report from ESPN Brasil, the goalkeeper is now contemplating the possibility of extending his contract beyond 2027.

Alisson Considering Contract Extension at Liverpool

“The goalkeeper plans to complete the final year of his contract and will assess throughout the season whether to stay with the Reds or leave as a free agent next summer,” the report states.

This development could be concerning for Giorgi Mamardashvili, who was signed in 2024 as a potential successor to Alisson, with an initial fee of £24m paid to Valencia.

While the 25-year-old goalkeeper has had opportunities to showcase his skills this season due to Alisson’s injury issues, he hasn’t yet convinced fans and management alike. If Alisson opts to stay on beyond 2027, Mamardashvili may find himself needing to seek a new club.
