“It was crucial that we didn’t lose, but what’s even more vital is our ongoing improvement as a team,” Amorim told Sky Sport Italia.

“We started strong, with high pressing, yet Inter’s experience allowed them to adapt quickly. This led to difficulties towards the end of the first half and beginning of the second half.
“However, we did see developments in the last 20 minutes of the match. It served as a solid test, but we need more games to evaluate all the players.”

“You can see that we’re trying to move the ball swiftly, building from the back without taking the same risks we did in Glasgow against Celtic,” Amorim added.
“It was also a good match for fitness, though there’s still much room for improvement in that area.”

“As I’ve mentioned before, being a Milan player is a privilege, and it should be enjoyed to the fullest,” the coach remarked.
“Leao is clearly enjoying his time and is focused on helping the team, which is crucial. I assess him in the same regard as I do Nkunku, Camarda, and the others, and I noted Camarda’s hard work today.”
Amorim acknowledges that his coaching style diverges significantly from that of his predecessor, Max Allegri.
“We need to enhance all aspects of play, especially ball possession, because more possession means less pressure on us. This is a process that takes time to develop.”

The Milan players and coaching staff were in Perth, rendering them unable to attend the funeral of icon Franco Baresi the previous day, but they honored his memory with a minute’s silence around his jersey prior to kickoff.
“I watched all the footage from yesterday; he was a remarkable player and individual. We will greatly miss him,” Amorim reflected.
“The best way to honor him is to ensure we perform well and steer the club back to its rightful place.”
