Bruno Guimarães has officially transferred to Arsenal from Newcastle United, as confirmed by the club.
The transfer fee is set at £75 million ($101 million), and Guimarães has signed a four-year contract with an option for an additional year, according to ESPN sources.
The 28-year-old midfielder expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I feel good, I feel amazing. I’m grateful for this opportunity. From my first discussions with [Andrea] Berta and Mikel [Arteta], I was excited. I sensed that I needed a new challenge in my life, and becoming an Arsenal player presents that exciting opportunity.”

Guimarães joined Newcastle in 2022 from Lyon and served as the captain for the past two seasons.
He became a primary target for Arteta this summer, as the manager looks to strengthen his squad ahead of their Premier League title defense.

Before the move, sources indicated to ESPN that Arsenal’s confidence in securing Guimarães grew following Eddie Howe’s departure from Newcastle.
The Brazil international made over 150 appearances for Newcastle and was pivotal in their 2025 Carabao Cup victory, which marked the club’s first major trophy in over 70 years, defeating Liverpool in the final.
