Arsenal’s summer recruit Demiane Agustien scores his maiden international goal for the Netherlands U19s against France
The 18-year-old midfielder Demiane Agustien joined Arsenal over the summer, opting for a move to North London instead of renewing his contract with Derby County.
Due to his age, Arsenal paid an undisclosed transfer fee for Agustien, but his impending contract expiration likely lessened the amount owed.
After a few months with Arsenal, Agustien joined the Netherlands U19s for their October international break and started in a match against France on Tuesday.
Although France scored first, Agustien answered back just before half-time with his initial international goal, leveling the score.
Previously, Agustien had played for the Curacao U17s and the Netherlands U18s but had not found the back of the net until this week.
Agustien has made an impressive impact at Arsenal, starting in four matches and coming off the bench in another four.
He will return to London to prepare for Arsenal U19s’ UEFA Youth League clash against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, October 21st at 13:00 BST.
