Banda, who remains under contract with Lecce until June 2027, has not returned to Italy since his summer vacation and failed to join the team for pre-season training four weeks ago, as reported.

A formal statement from Lecce indicated that they would ensure Banda faces consequences for his actions, yet it seems this has had little effect on him.

New developments have surfaced, revealing that Banda was seen with Al Swehli SC at their training camp in Cairo.
The Libyan club is gearing up for the CAF Champions League and has reportedly extended a two-year contract offer to the Zambian international, valued at €1.6 million per season.

Lecce is treating this matter with utmost seriousness, as noted by Gazzetta dello Sport, which reports that the club has filed a written appeal to FIFA, along with the Zambian and Libyan federations, highlighting that Banda is still under contract.
Moreover, it is claimed that Al Swehli had previously submitted an offer under €1 million for Banda, which Lecce declined.
Banda’s narrative suggests he was unaware of a unilateral option in his contract that allowed Lecce to extend his stay in June 2026, which the club subsequently activated.
