FC Barcelona has announced that Ferran Torres will not participate in the upcoming La Liga match against Girona, though this decision is made purely as a precaution.
The 25-year-old forward is experiencing ongoing discomfort from a hamstring overload in his left leg, an injury sustained during the recent international break.
The club issued an official statement indicating,
“First team player Ferran Torres will miss tomorrow’s match against Girona as a precaution due to discomfort from the hamstring overload in his left leg, incurred during the international break.”
Torres had previously returned early from the training camp with the Spanish national team due to this overload.
Both Barcelona and the Spanish Football Federation have clarified that it is “an overload in the hamstring muscles of the left leg without any associated injury.”
Despite this clarification, the discomfort has lingered, ultimately preventing the forward from being fit to play against Girona at Montjuïc.

The absence of Ferran further complicates matters for Hansi Flick, as other attacking options are also limited.
With Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski both out, the team has fewer seasoned attacking players available.
Apart from Lamine Yamal, only Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji are set to contribute to the frontline.
Additionally, while Dani Olmo and Fermin Lopez could add depth to the attack, Olmo is still dealing with injuries and Fermin has just returned from a prolonged absence due to similar physical challenges.
Flick now faces the challenge of managing the returning players’ workloads while ensuring the team remains a formidable attacking force against Girona following the October international break.
