Fans of England who prefer not to stay awake until the early hours of Monday can catch a complete, spoiler-free replay of their upcoming World Cup match on BBC Two.

The broadcaster, which holds the rights to England’s round of 16 match against Mexico, has announced that the game will be re-aired starting at 7:10 AM BST on Monday.

The knockout match at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City is set to kick off at 1 AM (8 AM local time), and pubs will be allowed to stay open for those who want to watch the match live.

However, for those opting to get some sleep, a “as live” viewing option will still be available to enjoy the match without spoilers.

“World Cup knockout football is a must-see, but a 1 AM kickoff isn’t feasible for everyone,” said Alex Kay-Jelski, the director of BBC Sport.

“We wanted to ensure there was an option for fans unable to stay awake to witness one of England’s biggest matches live. So whether you’re watching every second live or waking up to catch each moment spoiler-free, BBC Sport has you covered this Monday.”

England manager Thomas Tuchel has previously encouraged parents to allow their children to stay awake for the game, stating it was worth missing school for.

A full replay of the match will be accessible on BBC iPlayer from 6 AM BST on Monday, hosted by Kelly Cates, with insights from former England internationals Wayne Rooney, Micah Richards, and Joe Hart serving as pundits.
