Bournemouth reject…

Bournemouth have rebuffed a £64m offer from Chelsea for midfielder Alex Scott. The Cherries have told the Blues they do not welcome further bids and plan to keep one of their key players.

The situation is complicated by the fact that the England Under-21 international has turned down a new contract that has been on the table for at least two months.

Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and Manchester City also showed interest in Scott earlier in the window, and an approach from Arsenal was rejected in June.

Scott, 22, joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 for £25m and has two years remaining on his current deal. The club have consistently told the player and suitors that he will stay on the south coast, even under his existing terms.

Bournemouth are under no pressure to sell after qualifying for the Europa League and bringing in substantial funds from last summer’s sales of Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Illia Zabarnyi and Dango Outtara.

They are taking a similar stance with highly rated forward Junior Kroupi, who has drawn interest from Arsenal and Tottenham. Brazil international Rayan is also expected to remain, having only arrived in January and given no indication he wants to leave.
