Giovanni Carnevali expressed his pride and honor in joining Juventus, while Damien Comolli extended his gratitude to John Elkann and the club’s supporters as he announced his resignation.
Juventus officially named Giovanni Carnevali as their new CEO and General Manager on Friday, succeeding Damien Comolli.

Comolli had only been in the role for a year.

The board of directors at Juventus accepted Comolli’s resignation during a special meeting on Friday morning and released an official statement afterward.
Comolli Reflects on His Departure
“I have chosen to resign from my position as Chief Executive Officer of Juventus Football Club effective immediately,” Comolli stated.

“I am grateful to John Elkann and Exor for allowing me the opportunity to work at such a prestigious club. I want to thank all my colleagues at Juventus for their hard work, professionalism, and dedication. I wish both the women’s and men’s teams the utmost success in the upcoming season. A special thanks goes to the Juventus fans for their unwavering support, as they are what makes this Club so unique and special.”
Giovanni Carnevali, the former director of Sassuolo, also shared his thoughts on the Juventus official website following his appointment.

“It fills me with pride and honor to become part of a Club with such a rich history and a strong identity,” Carnevali remarked.
“I am grateful to the Club, the majority shareholder, and John Elkann for the trust they have placed in me. I approach this new role with a strong sense of responsibility and a belief that with consistent effort, we can establish a sustainable path for growth and a successful future. Together, we will ensure that Juventus remains a leading force at both national and international levels, while honoring the Club’s heritage and the ambitions of our fans.”
Carnevali had been the CEO of Sassuolo since 2012.
On the other hand, Comolli was hired by Juventus in 2025, first serving as General Manager and then stepping up to CEO in November 2025.

The Bianconeri concluded the 2025-26 Serie A season in sixth place, qualifying for the Europa League for the upcoming season.
Coach Luciano Spalletti remains in charge after extending his contract until 2028 this past April.
