Dybala Extends Roma Stay…

Paulo Dybala is set to finalize a new contract with AS Roma today, resolving any doubts about the Argentine’s future in the capital.

The talented playmaker’s previous contract had expired, and his signature will officially confirm his position as a Roma player following a period as a free agent.

The new deal spans one season, with no option for an additional year, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

Dybala initially sought a longer contract, but an enhanced salary of approximately €3 million net plus bonuses helped bridge the gap, leaving both sides content.

Dybala chooses to stay at Roma over Boca Juniors

His decision wasn’t a foregone conclusion.

Boca Juniors had made efforts to lure him back to Argentina, with his friend Leandro Paredes reportedly encouraging him to make the move, but Dybala consistently expressed his desire to remain at Roma.

He is expected to return to the capital on Sunday after signing the contract and will join the Trigoria training base on Monday for pre-season preparation with Gian Piero Gasperini.

Roma has strong motivation to secure his commitment. Dybala continues to be a key figure in the locker room and is one of the players Gasperini is looking to build his team around.

His impact was evident towards the end of last season; in his first three starts after recovering from injury, he provided four assists, playing a vital role in helping Roma secure third place and qualify for the Champions League.
