Ewen Jaouen of Reims Set…

Stade de Reims goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen (20) has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement to join Newcastle United, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Jaouen had a standout season last year on loan at USL Dunkerque, where he nearly helped the team secure promotion from Ligue 2 and led them to the semi-finals of the Coupe de France. He returned to Stade de Reims this summer following Les Stadistes’ relegation from Ligue 1.

While he has been the starting goalkeeper for Reims this season, the club has been unable to achieve a quick return to the top tier of French football, making Jaouen’s potential departure this summer more likely. According to Tavolieri, the French youth international has already toured Newcastle’s facilities and is in agreement to join the club.

At Newcastle, he would vie for the starting position next season. Negotiations between Newcastle and Reims are ongoing, with the latter reportedly asking for a transfer fee of €20 million.
