Mario Gila has publicly expressed his excitement for joining Milan, highlighting the club’s prestige and Ruben Amorim’s vision as key factors in his decision.
The Spanish defender, who inked a deal lasting until 2031 following his €30m transfer from Lazio, gave his first interview through the club’s official channels.

“I chose Milan because it’s one of the strongest clubs in the world. Its prestigious history and the environment here are exactly what I need to elevate my game,” Gila remarked.
“There are numerous exciting objectives ahead, and I am committed to giving my all to help the team succeed. This is an incredible challenge for me. The coach’s vision and everything Milan represents were pivotal in my decision to join the Rossoneri.”

The center-back expressed his thrill about joining the club and getting to work with his new coach.

“Arriving at such a significant club has filled me with emotion. These past few days have been overwhelmingly positive, and I’m incredibly happy,” he mentioned.
“I adapt well wherever I go, and I’m confident I’ll mesh well with my new teammates. I can’t wait to visit Milanello and meet the coach to understand his methods. The fans will be there on Monday, and I look forward to engaging with them.”
Gila marks Milan’s second key acquisition of the summer, following their record signing of Gonçalo Ramos, as part of the defensive revamp Amorim has prioritized since taking the helm.
