Jurgen Klopp has accepted the role of manager for the German national team following Julian Nagelsmann’s resignation, which came after a disappointing exit from the World Cup.
Germany entered the tournament with high hopes but faced an early end in the round of 32 after losing to Paraguay in a penalty shootout.

Shortly after, Nagelsmann stepped down, taking accountability for yet another disappointing tournament as Germany’s quest for World Cup glory continues.
The German Football Association (DFB) quickly identified Klopp as the top candidate for a significant overhaul.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Klopp has accepted the offer and is set to be Germany’s next manager.
While details of his contract and transition from Red Bull are being finalized, the agreement is established.
Klopp has also confirmed that he is in discussions with the DFB.
The 59-year-old noted that he was contacted after Nagelsmann’s departure and expressed readiness to return to coaching after stepping away from club management for the past two years.

Klopp concluded his tenure at Liverpool after the 2023-24 season, where he transformed the club into Premier League champions and Champions League winners during a successful nine-year period at Anfield.
He subsequently took a senior leadership position as head of global soccer at Red Bull, managing the football operations across various clubs. However, that role seems to be coming to an end as he prepares to return to coaching.
Klopp emphasized that further discussions are required before everything is concluded due to his current contractual obligations.
Moreover, he acknowledged that the challenges facing Germany extend beyond just one individual.
Describing Nagelsmann as an “excellent coach,” the former Borussia Dortmund manager insisted that broader structural changes are necessary.

Germany has not won a World Cup knockout match since their triumph in Brazil in 2014, following earlier disappointments in the 2018 and 2022 tournaments, which has heightened the demand for significant reforms across the national team.
Klopp’s mission will be to lead that transformation and restore Germany to its rightful place among the elite in international football.
His appointment would be one of the most significant in global football.
The DFB is expected to formally confirm Klopp’s hiring once the contractual obligations concerning his exit from Red Bull are resolved.
