As reported by Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, FC Lorient has finalized a deal with OGC Nice to sign France youth international Gabin Bernardeau (20).
The midfielder came through the Le Mans academy before moving to Nice in 2025. He made four league appearances as a substitute during a challenging season for the southern club, which narrowly avoided relegation thanks to a play-off victory over AS Saint-Étienne.
During his time at Nice, Bernardeau contributed to the team’s run to the Coupe de France final, starting in the Round of 16 match against Ligue 2 side Montpellier HSC and making two additional substitute appearances in the tournament.
He is set to return to the north in a transfer worth approximately €1m, as Lorient aims to build on their successful return to the top flight last season, where they contended for European qualification and finished just shy of a top-half finish.
